Family Events during Half Term

Make most of your family holidays in Cornwall and visit these
great and mostly Free events.

Half Terms starts today and we are expecting a sunny 15 degrees over the weekend as well as lots of happy guests coming to stay with us from near and far. As usual we have organised a fabulous event programme for you and your children but there are also many exciting and mostly free events happening around Cornwall. Ideal when on holiday with children.

25th May – 11am to 13pm
Valley walk to rockpools (meet at Restormel Fox Club)
About 40 mins drive from Sands Resort Hotel
Guided walk down a flower-filled valley to the beach. Bring a picnic. Please be careful  some of the paths are rugged and steep. BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL! Free event but suggested donation to the Wildlife Trust.

25th – 27th May
Fal Fish Festival – Falmouth
About 45 mins drive from Sands Resort Hotel
The Fal Fish Festival is part of the Fal River Festival in Falmouth. Cooking demonstrations, live music,
local food and market stalls as well as Children’s Entertainment.

26th May
Heartlands Kernow Fest
About 30 mins drive from Sands
A celebration of Cornish Food & Culture including Live Music, Dance, Theatre and Children Entertainment for everyone

24th – 27th May
Bude Stratton Folk Festival
About 1 hr drive from Sands
Acoustic Folk Festival with various music acts. Some are free, for others there is a £3 – £5 entrance fee. www.budefolk.com

26th May
Jazz & Picnic in the Park Lostwithiel – 6pm – 10pm
About 40 min drive from Sands
Musical Memories and Swingin’ Affair Jazz Quartet. Gardens open  from 3pm – Bring your  picnic. Ticket Hotline: 01726 819290 Tickets : Adults £15 (£20 on the gate), Children Under 12 £10, Under 5’s free in support of Children’s Hospice South West.

Meet Bob the Builder at Bodmin and Wendford Railway

Polzeath marine discovery day
About 45 min drive from Sands

Cornwall Wildlife Trust, National Trust and Cornwall Council are joining forces to bring you a marine day you will never forget! Come and celebrate our seas in Polzeath and go rock pooling with marine experts, create beach sculptures, take part in an arts/crafts animation or learn to save dolphins with marine life rescue experts! Free, but donations to the Polzeath Marine Centre welcome.

1st – 2nd June
Looe Festival by the sea
About 1 hrs drive from Sands Resort Hotel
Annual family festival including a rock pool ramble for children, raft racing. Local market stalls, food, drink and music.
