6 April — 23 November
‘Hands on’ Shire Experience, Helston
Learn about the history of the Shire Horse and their current Rare Breed status, help to clean and feed the horses and enjoy a relaxing trip through beautiful Cornish countryside to a local inn for some lunch before returning to the stables.

2nd June
Minnows’ Tales– National Maritime Museum, Falmouth
Every Monday during term-time, drop in for a lively half-an-hour of stories, songs and rhymes in one of our beautiful galleries. No need to book, all under-fives and their parents and carers are welcome. Free with Museum entrance ticket. Read more.

7 — 8 June
Electric Beach Festival 2014
Grandmaster Flash, Zion Train, Sam and the Womp, Dizraeli and the Small Gods, are just a few of the acts announced to rock the beach at nearby Watergate Bay this year. Also the main man, DJ Maseo from De La Soul will be returning to play some all time classics. Read more.

Family Activities, Trelisick Gardens
Trelissick is a great place for families to come and look for creepy-crawlies, watch birds and spot animal footprints or build a den. There is lots going on for families at Trelisick Gardens. Read more.

13 — 15 June
International Sea Shanty Festival, Falmouth
Visit the biggest maritme music concerts in Europe with 48 Shanty groups, 21 venues and 261 hours of shanty singing. The International Sea Shanty Festival is held at multiple venues throughout Falmouth and the town will be filled with music, singing and infused with a great community spirit. The main stages will be based at Custom House Quay, Events Square (Discovery Quay) and The Moor and all events are free of charge. Read more.

Polperro Festival 2014
Join Polperro in celebrating all that is great about its local culture and community. Nine days and nights celebrating arts and music to give both residents and visitors the chance to experience new ideas and old ones in a completely different way. Read more.

Heritage Transport Festival
Come along to Bodmin General Station to experience a superb display of rail and road transport from yesteryear, including steam and heritage diesel locomotives, full size and miniature traction engines, cars, commercial vehicles on display. Read more.

Father’s Day Teddy Bears Picnic, Newquay Zoo
Bring your Teddy, and your Dad. Half price for Dads and children get in free when accompanied by an adult and of course, a Teddy Bear. Read more.

20 -22 June
Fowey Mussel Fest

Entertainment for all the family and local produce for you to try. James Strawbridge is among the chefs demonstrating their culinary skills. Read more.

20 – 29 June
Golowan Festival
Golowan Goes Global’ in 2014 – 9 days of music, dance, theatre, and street processions culminating in Mazey Day (28th) when Penzance springs to life for the biggest festivals in the SW.

21 June
Armed Forces Day
Armed Forces Day in Pool, Redruth, at the Heartlands. A celebration to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community. Time: 11am. Tickets: Free entry.

21 June
Swamp Circus presents: The Wave
A fast moving acrobatic comedy circus performance telling us the story of a lovely seaside holiday, disturbed by plastic monsters lurking in the depths.
