A booking will only confirmed once we have checked availability and price and confirmed this to you.
DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION SCHEME
The deposit required varies subject to cancellation cover held by you.
If you have no scheme to cover you we will require a deposit of 2/3 of the holiday cost. In the event of cancellation this will only be refunded if we re-let the room.
Own travel insurance
A deposit of £10 per person per day is required. The deposit will be credited against your final account. If you have your own cover then please provide us with details and in the event of cancellation we will charge you 2/3 of the holiday cost and provide you with an invoice to reclaim the cost from your insurer.
Our cancellation scheme £1.50 per adult per day
A deposit of £10 per person per day is required. The cancellation scheme charge £1.50 per day per adult (max £15) will be deducted from your deposit. In the event of cancellation the following scheme rules will apply.
THE SANDS HOLIDAY CANCELLATION SCHEME RULES
For £1.50 per adult per day (max. £15 no charge for children) and your online acceptance, our scheme covers you for the cancellation of your holiday prior to its commencement date due to: death or of bodily injury to or sickness or compulsory quarantine or jury service or redundancy of yourself or any members of your family with whom you intend to travel.
The Cancellation Scheme covers your accommodation charges.
Please note that any cancellation by you of a reservation must be notified to us in writing and will take effect on the day it is received by us. Written documentation will be required to support your reason for cancellation. If your reason for cancellation isn’t one of those specified in our cancellation scheme we will try to relet the room. In the event that it is not possible to re-let the room or rooms, the hotel will be entitled to claim 2/3 of the full cost of the holiday from you. If we re-let the room you will receive a refund less a 10% admin fee.
No allowance is made for early departure.
PAYMENT OF ACCOUNTS
Settlement of the balance of your account will be required on arrival.
Accounts can be settled in cash, by cheque or by MASTERCARD, VISA, DELTA or MAESTRO card. Cheques are only accepted by prior arrangement before arrival.
No allowance is made for meals missed or rooms not occupied for the full time of the reservation.
Whilst the hotel marketing material is intended to give a fair representation of the facilities available, there may be occasions when certain facilities are out of use. Although every effort will be made to try and ensure that this does not happen, where it is unavoidable, then no liability shall attach to the hotel by reason thereof. If you require further information about any particular facilities or their availability please write well in advance of your holiday so that your queries can be dealt with. The hotel cannot accept responsibility for anything said to you by our staff unless it is confirmed to you in writing. All information given in the hotel marketing material is correct at the time of going to press but services/facilities may be changed during the validity of the material. The management reserves the right to change the entertainment programme without prior notice.
Participation in any of the hotel’s organised sports competitions, games or other activities is at guests’ own risk.
The hotel hosts weddings and seminars and some lounge areas may occasionally be unavailable.

If your holiday is cut short during your stay we may deduct 1/3 of the tariff for the remaining days, for food not consumed.
If we are able to re-let your room we may refund you 2/3 of whichever is the lower of your tariff or the re-let charge.
MEALS AND BEVERAGES
Bed & Breakfast customers please note that in order to maintain levels of hygiene, we do not allow food to be prepared or consumed in hotel rooms.
BREAKFAST 7.30 am to 9.45 am
Served in the restaurant. Tea, coffee, rolls, croissant, toast, yoghurt, muesli bar, cereals and 3 cooked items daily.
LUNCH 12.00 pm to 2.00 pm
Served in the restaurant or on the terrace. All lunches attract an extra charge. Bagel, burgers, ploughman’s, fries, ice creams and cakes.
CHILDREN’S TEAS 4.45 pm to 5.45 pm
Served in the restaurant. High tea with a choice of 2 main courses.
WE OFFER A RANGE OF EVENING DINING ARRANGEMENTS TO SUIT MOST REQUIREMENTS.
FAMILY DINING 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm
For those who want to eat dinner with their younger children as an alternative to children’s teas. No seating after 7.30 pm. The same dinner menu as for other adults with a couple of children’s choices.
QUIET DINNER 7.30 pm to 8.45 pm
For those who want to eat with older children. Under 7’s are discouraged from this area.
DINNER WITHOUT CHILDREN 7.30 pm to 8.45 pm
If you would like to eat as a couple each night we will do our best to seat you in a child free area.
We offer a wide range of foods on our menu’s but are unable to deal with special medical or allergic diets.
The hotel public areas and bedrooms are all non-smoking. Every room and corridor has a smoke alarm which will set off the hotel alarm and call the fire brigade.
The “Ocean Bar” is open from 10.00 am to 11.30 pm each day. On sunny days it transfers during the day to the harbour Café. Drinks, coffees, cakes, ice cream, sweets, local baked cakes and Cornish cream teas are available.
No allowance is made for missed meals during holidays.
CHILDCARE & CLUB BOOKINGS
Children’s clubs can be booked before or after you arrive at the Resort. In order to reduce late cancellations, overbooking and staffing problems, once a booking has been made it will be automatically charged to your account and will not be refunded in the event of cancellation.
Whilst every effort is made to accommodate peak demand, there will be occasions when the clubs are full. In these cases extra clubs may be run later in the day subject to demand.
We cannot guarantee every child a place in all club sessions.
TOWELS & LAUNDRY
Small swim towels are available for use at the hotel pools. Please bring your own towels for beach use. We can take your laundry to a local launderette. There is a charge for this service.
We regret no pets are allowed at the hotel.
STAIRS (NO LIFT)
Please note there are no lifts at the hotel and some rooms are on the second floor.
CHECKING IN AND OUT
Rooms are available from 3.00 pm on arrival and must be left by 10.30 am on departure. Rooms will not be available before 1.00 pm.
Open Daily from 7.00 am – 10.30 pm. £4 day/per adult or £10 for the duration of your stay. Please note that opening times vary during the Winter months.
Heated indoor pool Open 9.30 am – 7.00 pm Spa & Sauna available most days. Outdoor pool heated Whitsun to September. Pools do not have lifeguard provision. Please note that opening times vary during the Winter months.
OCEAN BREEZE SPA
All treatments attract an extra charge. Advance bookings can be made by calling the resort. Advance booking is essential from May to September and during school holidays. Childcare can be booked to coincide with treatments.
Treatments must be paid for at spa. They cannot be charged to room bills.
DAMAGE TO HOTEL PROPERTY
The hotel retains the right to charge customers for breakages and damage to hotel property. This right will extend to cleaning charges where rooms are left in an unreasonable state at the end of your stay.
Whilst the brochure is intended to give a fair representation of the facilities available at the time of printing, occasionally facilities and services may be added, altered or withdrawn during the validity of the brochure. On these occasions no liability shall attach to the hotel by reason thereof.
No responsibility can be accepted for anything said to you by our staff outside the information given in the brochure or on the website, unless given in writing. Valuables should be deposited in a room safe. Cars are parked in our car park at the owner’s risk.
The balance of your holiday cost is payable on arrival by Cash, Visa, Switch or MasterCard. Payments by cheque can only be accepted 7 days prior to arrival. Cheques without valid card spending limits are not accepted on departure.
Sands does not participate in the star rating system as that method of rating does not take into account family friendly facilities. We have great facilities for parents travelling with children.
We have made a service value decision not to invest in trouser presses, lifts and 24-hour room service, but instead offer spacious suites with FREE baby listening, fridges, tea making facilities, DVD players and PlayStations. Outside we have free sports facilities and play areas for toddlers and school age children.
We offer dining options for every family requirement and a first class Spa for relaxation. Our children’s clubs are OFSTED registered and we have a children’s entertainment programme.
