As the days get shorter, motivation to keep as active as in summer begins to
fade. Try not to give up too quickly and look for other ways to keep moving and burn those calories; for example by going for a long walk on the beach, raking the garden leaves or joining the gym.
Rosie Malcolm, Personal Trainer at our FitClub Gym suggests a mix of working out at the gym, especially in the evenings and on bad weather days, as well as exercising outside. Just a short bike ride to work or to the shops can make a difference and exposure by the sun will help you to keep up your Vitamin D level.
If you find it hard to get motivated find a gym partner or book a few sessions with a personal trainer, who will provide you with a tailor-made fitness programme and can also help with advice on eating a balanced diet.
Another way to stay fit and healthy in autumn is by boosting your natural immunity and giving your body the best chance at defending itself against that dreaded cold and flu. Make sure you eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water or caffeine free tea.
