Sands supports Shine charity

Take part in the Grand Prize Draw

Sands Resort Hotel is working with Shine Charity and has donated one of the prizes for their Grand Prize Draw.

The charity runs one of their big annual conferences at our hotel and represents a community of 75,000 individuals, families, friends, and professionals, sharing achievements, challenges and information on living with hydrocephalus, and/or spina bifida.

Shine is Europe’s largest organisation dedicated to supporting babies, children and adults living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and provides specialist support from before birth and throughout the life of anyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, as well as to parents, families, carers and professional health and social care staff.

How your participation will help:

At least two of the babies conceived every day in the UK will go on to develop a neural tube defect such as spina bifida.

With your help Shine can continue to save and change lives every day, creating better futures for the people that depend on us. This might mean providing emotional support and information to parents who have just learned that their unborn baby has spina bifida and hydrocephalus; educating parents about the warning signs of a potentially fatal infection or supporting children through the education system so that they are given the confidence to realise their full potential.

Shine’s members’ achievements constantly reinforce the huge importance of the work that we do each day. We rely heavily on voluntary donations and our fundraising events to deliver this essential support and specialist services which are not available anywhere else.

Thank you for helping!
