What is included in your “Bed and Breakfast” tariff?
“Standard” bedroom or suite with phone, TV (9 channels including radio), tea making facilities and mini fridge.
English buffet breakfast with 3 cooked choices daily.
Queen or Super King size beds.
Cots, highchairs and baby listening service 7pm – 11pm
Free use of swimming pools, sauna and hydro.
Free Aerobic gym for 15 yrs and over.
Free use of 9 hole golf, tennis, croquet, football, basketball, table tennis and skittles.
Use of indoor and outdoor play areas including the maze.
Adult and children’s entertainment programmes.

What does it cost to add dinner and children’s teas?
Book dinner and teas at the time of you initial reservation, for all your party, for the full stay and you get these special prices.

How do the FREE child places work?
1 FREE child offer Only available on stays of 6 days or more. Parents with 1 child under 7 get that child free.
Larger families get the youngest child under 7 free. Based on 2 adults staying
2 FREE child offer Only available on stays of 6 days or more. Parents with 1 child under 7 get that child free.
Larger families get the youngest 2 children under 7 free. Based on 2 adults staying.
If parents book dinner for their full stay a FREE child gets inclusive children’s teas. Family dining for a free child attracts a charge of £5.

Standard
These rooms are" type A" layout family interconnecting suites and whilst spacious and comfortable are a little dated and due for refurbishment for the 2009 season.
These rooms have TV, telephone, tea making facilities and mini fridge. They are sea facing. See +++ below

Comfort
These rooms can be "type B" layout Pool Suites that had refurbished bedroom areas in 2007.
Or
"Type M" double, triple, single and family interconnecting rooms. Bedroom areas were refurbished in 2007
These rooms have a TV in each room, telephone, tea making facilities, DVD and mini fridge. They have a variety of room shapes and views. See +++ below

Contemporary
These rooms are "type A" layout family suites with newly refurbished bedroom and bathroom areas
These rooms have a TV in each sleeping area, DVD player, Sony Playstation, free broadband access, telephone, tea making facilities and mini fridge. They are sea facing. See +++ below.

Apartment
These are "Type C" shape suites with refurbished bedrooms and lounge in 2007. They have 2 bedrooms and a lounge.

Views
Every room has a differing view, some are ocean views, some country and some restricted. We offer the best view available at the time of booking.

HONESTY policy
We like to be honest about our hotel and its rooms. We do have the ocean to one side and the countryside to the other but there is a road between sea facing rooms and the sea.
Hotels can be noisier than living at home and there are often other guests who may not have the same outlook on noise, children’s behaviour and getting up times as you.
We don’t have lifts and we are 3 star, not 4 star, but we still think we can give you a great value holiday in contemporary surroundings.
We will never knowingly mislead you regarding the hotel and recommend that you speak to a reservation manager if you have any queries or concerns regarding your booking (as junior receptionists may not have complete knowledge of every room’s outlook and facilities).

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

SHORT STAYS

2 or 3-day holidays add 10%
1 day holidays add 20%
Bed and breakfast. Limited availability, deduct £10 a day from adult rate.

SINGLE OCCUPANCY
For use of double room £25 per per night

DEPOSIT
A deposit of £10 per person per day is required. Including for free child places. The balance is payable on arrival.

PAYMENT
The balance of your holiday cost is payable on arrival by Cash, Visa, Switch or MasterCard,. Payments by cheque can only be accepted 7 days prior to arrival. Cheques cannot be accepted on departure.

CONTRACT
A binding contract will have been made upon the receipt of your booking form, signed by you, at the time it is arrives at this office and in the case of online reservation confirmation we have e-mailed you back to confirm receipt. The contract will be deemed to have been made in Cornwall. Signing the contract or confirming online will imply that you have read the brochure or website “information and tariff” and accept the terms as shown.

CANCELLATION SCHEME AND HOLIDAY CANCELLATION INSURANCE
All holidays booked at Sands must be covered by either:
our cancellation scheme
or travel insurance of your own
or must be fully paid for at time of booking

Our scheme
Sands Resort offers a cancellation scheme that covers you for the cancellation of your holiday up until the day of arrival.
For the sum of £1.50 per adult, per day booked, (Maximum £15pp) no charge for children, our scheme covers you for the cancellation of your holiday prior to its commencement date.
It covers the balance of your accommodation charges and if cancelled more than one week prior to the commencement date, also covers the deposit. For holidays cancelled within one week of arrival, the deposit will also be refunded but only if the room is re-let.
Our cancellation scheme will be automatically added to your account but will be credited in the event of you sending your own insurance details.
All holidays must be covered by insurance to the full holiday value.
If covered by you own insurance the contract will not be complete until the hotel has a copy and is satisfied with its contents. Until we receive it the holiday will not be covered and you will be liable for 100% of all charges in the event of cancellation. Please note many credit card insurance only covers monies already paid and will only cover the holiday if the total holiday cost has been paid.
Please note our cancellation scheme only covers you up until the day of your arrival.

Reasons for cancellation covered by our scheme:
Sickness, death, injury, jury service or redundancy of any member of your party or the hospitalisation or death of any close relation.
No other reasons will be covered. Cancellation must be made in writing and be received prior to the arrival date, with supporting documentation.

EARLY DEPARTURE
If your holiday is cut short during your stay we may deduct 1/3 of the tariff for the remaining days, for food not consumed.
If we are able to re-let your room we may refund you 2/3 of whichever is the lower of your tariff or the re-let charge.

MEALS AND BEVERAGES

BREAKFAST 8.00am to 9.45am
Served in the restaurant. Tea, coffee, rolls, croissant, toast, yoghurt, muesli bar, cereals and 3 cooked items daily.

LUNCH 12.00pm to 2.00pm
Served in the restaurant or on the terrace. All lunches attract an extra charge. Bagel, burgers, ploughman’s, fries, ice creams and cakes.

CHILDRENS TEAS 4.45pm to 5.45pm
Served in the restaurant. High tea with a choice of 2 main courses.

WE OFFER A RANGE OF EVENING DINING ARRANGEMENTS TO SUIT MOST REQUIREMENTS.

FAMILY DINING 7.00pm to 8.00pm
For those who want to eat dinner with their younger children as an alternative to children’s teas. No seating after 7.30pm. The same dinner menu as for other adults with a couple of children’s choices.

QUIET DINNER 7.30pm to 8.45 pm
For those who want to eat with older children. Under 7’s are discouraged from this area.

DINNER WITHOUT CHILDREN 7.30pm to 8.45 pm
If you would like to eat as a couple each night we will do our best to seat you in a child free area.

SPECIAL DIETS
We offer a wide range of food on our menu but are unable to provide for special medical diets.

SMOKING
The hotel public areas and bedrooms are all non-smoking.

BAR
The “Ocean Bar” is open from 10.00am to 11.30pm each day. On sunny days it transfers during the day to the harbour Café. Drinks, coffees, cakes, ice cream, sweets, local baked cakes and Cornish cream teas are available.

MISSED MEALS
No allowance is made for missed meals during holidays.

CHILDCARE & CLUB BOOKINGS.
Children’s clubs can be booked once you arrive at the Resort. In order to reduce late cancellations, overbooking and staffing problems, once a booking has been made it will be automatically charged to your account and will not be refunded in the event of cancellation.
Whilst every effort is made to accommodate peak demand, there will be occasions when the clubs are full. In these cases extra clubs may be run later in the day subject to demand.
We cannot guarantee every child a place in all club sessions.

SPECIAL DIETS.
We offer a wide range of foods on our menu’s but are unable to deal with special medical or allergic diets.

SMOKING.
Sands Resort is a non-smoking resort.

TOWELS & LAUNDRY.
Small swim towels are available for use at the hotel pools. Please bring your own towels for beach use. We can take your laundry to a local launderette. There is a charge for this service.

PETS.
We regret no pets are allowed at the hotel.

STAIRS (WE HAVE NO LIFT)
Please note there are no lifts at the hotel and some rooms are on the second floor.Arrival and check in times

CHECKING IN AND OUT
Rooms are available from 3.00 pm on arrival and must be left by 10.30 am on departure. Rooms will not be available before 1.00pm.

GYM
All users must read induction document and be fit to use equipment. Gym users must be 15+.

POOLS
Heated indoor pool Open 9.30 am – 7.00 pm Spa & Sauna available most days.
Outdoor pool heated Whitsun to September.
Pools do not have lifeguard provision

OCEAN BREEZE HEALTH SUITE
All treatments attract an extra charge. Advance bookings can be made by calling the resort. Advance booking is essential from May to September and during school holidays. Childcare can be booked to coincide with treatments.
Treatments must be paid for at spa. They cannot be charged to room bills.

DAMAGE TO HOTEL PROPERTY.
The hotel retains the right to charge customers for breakages and damage to hotel property. This right will extend to cleaning charges where rooms are left in an unreasonable state at the end of your stay.

LIABILITY.
Whilst the brochure is intended to give a fair representation of the facilities available at the time of printing, occasionally facilities and services may be added, altered or withdrawn during the validity of the brochure. On these occasions no liability shall attach to the hotel by reason thereof.
No responsibility can be accepted for anything said to you by our staff outside the information given in the brochure and tariff, unless given in writing. Valuables should be deposited in a room safe. Cars are parked in our car park at the owner’s risk.

PAYMENT.
The balance of your holiday cost is payable on arrival by Cash, Visa, Switch or MasterCard. Payments by cheque can only be accepted 7 days prior to arrival. Cheques without valid card spending limits are not accepted on departure.

Sands is a 3* Hotel with great facilities for families and parents travelling with children
We have made a service value decision not to invest in trouser presses, lifts and 24hour room service, but instead offer spacious suites with FREE baby listening, fridges, tea making facilities, microwaves, DVD players and Playstation's. Outside we have free sports facilities and play areas for toddlers and school age children.

We offer dining options for every family requirement and a first class Spa for relaxation. Our children's clubs are OFSTED registered and we have a children's entertainment programme. With up to 2 children travelling free, we believe Sands is a great destination for families.
