06th – 7th April – Cornwall Spring Flower Show, Lostwithiel
The Cornwall Spring Flower Show which is also known as Cornwall’s answer to the Chelsea Flower Show, showcases some of the very best examples of spring time horticultural beauty. The event regularly attracts around 10,000 people.
06th – 7th April – Seal Rescue Celebration Weekend, Helston
The Seal Sanctuary in Helston celebrates its 55 anniversary. Visitors can learn about dramatic rescues and meet the real seals and sea lions whose individual stories are brought to life during their visit.
11th – 18th April – Art8, Newquay
The Art8 Festival involves over 100 artists from different disciplines in over 50 events and over 20 exhibitions in 40+ venues across Newquay across 8 days. The festival celebrates and showcases the cultural and artistic activity already taking place in Newquay and surrounding villages, as well as bringing in artists and performers from further afield.
20th April – Porthleven Food Festival
The Porthleven Food festival attracts in excess of 12,000 people who come to the tiny fishing village to enjoy over eighty food stalls showcasing Cornish food producers along with music and entertainment. The theme for 2013 is ‘Sourced from the Sea’ celebrating Porthleven’s seaside heritage and the abundance of lobster and crab caught by the local fishermen.
27th April – Trevithick Day, Camborne
The Streets of Camborne come alive with a spectacular day of free Steam, entertainment and much more. The festival celebrates the inventor, Richard Trevithick and includes attractions, dance routes, short biography and photographs.
Please note that the main streets in Camborne will be closed for the event.
27th – 28th April – Legends of the Bay, Watergate Bay, Newquay
For the first time, British Kitesurfing Association (BKSA) and the British Stand Up Paddlesurf Assocation (BSUPA) will be collaborating to bring the brand new Legends of the Bay to Watergate on the weekend of 27 & 28 April. Whatever the conditions, spectators are promised a display of beach action.
