Be Active Truro (30 mins drive from Sands)days-out
For the third year running, Truro’s Lemon Quay will be transformed into a sports and activity hub as the ‘Be Active Truro’ Festival presents an abundance of free activities including ‘come and try’ sessions, demonstrations, climbing wall, dance day, ping pong plus a whole host of goodies. Tregony Heavy Horse Show, St. Austell (35 mins drive from Sands)
Tregony annual Heavy Horse Show and Country Fayre presents the parading and judging of heavy horses and shetland ponies plus various Craft stalls, Music, Sheep dog demonstrations & sheep shearing, Farrier and drinks and snacks. More Information.

Pirate Day at Land’s End (1 hr 15 mins drive from Sands)
Land’s End is taken over by pirates in this day full of swashbuckling fun, with competitions, activities and live music. More Information.

16 – 18 August
Cornish Steam & Country Fair, Stithians (44 mins drive from Sands)
The show is very much a family event. As well as Steam Engines, Old Time Fun Fair, Vintage Vehicles, Model and Craft displays, there is much more to entertain everyone around the show. From bouncy castles to vintage wood sawing, trade stands to heavy horse working demonstrations there is something for all the family. More information.

Fowey Regatta and Carnival Week (50 mins drive from Sands)
For one week each August the usually tranquil town of Fowey attracts thousands of visitors who flock there for the Fowey Royal Regatta, one of Britain’s premier sailing events. It is also a fun-filled week for all the family – sailors and landlubbers alike. More information.

St Ewe Country Fair (40 mins drive from Sands)

Cornwall Folk Festival, Wadebridge (30 mins drive from Sands)
