Visit Poldark film locations in Cornwall

If you love the new BBC adaptation of Poldark as much as we do then you might consider a trip to Cornwall just to go and see some of the stunning film locations where the series was made.

Several of the places where many scenes of Poldark were filmed are just a few miles away from Sands Resort Hotel, others are a bit further afield, but surely, if you are a real fan you wouldn’t mind the drive.

We have listed the top locations for you that are in easy reach of Sands Resort:

1. Only 7 miles from Sands you find the beautiful beach of Porthcothan where Poldark’s fictional Nampara Cove is set.

2. Poldark’s Nampara Valley can be found at St Agnes head, 16 miles from Sands, featuring some of the wonderful engine houses Cornwall is well known for.

3. Charlestown, a lovely little town close to St Austell is just 18 miles from Porth and plays the main town in some scenes.

Other film locations further afield include Poldark Mine near Helston which can also be visited,  Gunwalloe on the Lizard, the West Wheal Owles Engine House between Botallack and Levant, Porthgwarra and St Breward on Bodmin Moor.
