If you are on holiday with a baby and prefer to take a pram or buggy when exploring the area you will find that some walks are easier to master on wheels than others.

We have listed a few ideas for pram and buggy friendly walks in Cornwall for you or if you want to venture a bit further off the beaten track why not hire an all-terrain buggy for a day, available at our reception.

Porth Reservoir is very close to Sands and is a designated bird sanctuary. The lake is a peaceful and picturesque and based just outside of Newquay. Certainly worth a visit to enjoy the Cornish countryside. See on the map.

Trenance Gardens and boating lake is a lovely 1,5 mile walk in Newquay. The beautiful, quiet gardens feature subtropical plants and little rustic bridges over streams that run into the boating lake where children can feed the ducks. Ideal for a leisurely stroll with a pram or buggy. See on the map.

Goss Moor is a 480 hectare National Nature Reserve and the largest surviving remnant of the Mid-Cornwall moors. Only a short drive from Newquay the Nature Reserve offers a unique wild and undeveloped environment to explore. The multi-use trail is mostly flat. See on the map.

The Camel Trail is an 18 mile smooth-surfaced and virtually level cycle way passing through the most spectacular countryside in the South West. Although not a tarmac surface, the trail is mainly smooth and ideal for pram and buggy pushers.

Bikes can be hired in Padstow , Wadebridge or Bodmin, or you can bring you own. The trail also provides access to many villages and country lanes which lie close to the trail. Ideal to explore the North of Cornwall on your holiday. See on the map.

North Cliffs – Only a 30 minute drive from Sands, this easily accessible 1 mile walk will give you excellent views of Cornwall’s rugged coastline. The start of the route is at Reskajeague Downs Car Park, South of Portreath – TR16 4LN. See on the map.

Tehidy Country Park Walk – The scenic shorter circular walk which follows a mainly level unbound surface around the historical estate of Tehidy Country Park has fantastic woodland and lakeside views. See on the map.

Wimbleball Lake Country Park – Another beautiful walk following the shorelines of lakes, meandering through woodland and onto open moorland. See on the map.

And last but not least: Some of the popular South West Coast Path is suitable for pushchairs and buggies including the first part from Padstow Harbour to Tregirls Beach and Polzeath to St Enodoc. See on the map.
