Sands joins The Final Straw Campaign
We are proud to announce that Sands Resort Hotel has joined The Final Straw Campaign.
The aim of the Final Straw Campaign is: “To rid Cornwall of single use plastic straws and raise awareness of the damage single use plastics are causing to our environment.”
Why straws? They are a clear example of completely unnecessary single use plastic that is used for an average of just 20 minutes then discarded. Every straw on the planet right now will outlive everyone reading these words.
Some problems seem too big to tackle. This problem isn’t. We can do it if we all work together!
When we heard about the campaign, hotel owner, Nicholas Malcolm immediately decided to join the campaign. It’s a great way of raising awareness of the damage plastic causes. All our straws as well as our cups in the gym have now been replaced with fully recyclable, 100% paper straws and cups.
We are extremely lucky to live in Cornwall. Naturally it’s in our interest to preserve the counties’ beauty and to protect the animals living on land and in the sea. It’s soul destroying to see what the plastic does to our oceans.
And as a Family Resort we only want the best for future generations.
Sands Resort Hotel has been owned by Nicholas Malcolm for almost 40 years and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean offering family holidays, short breaks and spa weekends by the sea.
